Business conducting operations on a residential street

Wouldn't that apply to special events where you would need a permit, such as a block party or political protest?

Business conducting operations on a residential street

Well that stinks. Also looks like blocking a street is a violation of city ordinances, but if the cops aren't going to respond or cite the miscreants when they do show up then that's no use.

Business conducting operations on a residential street

If blocking off Yale isn't an option perhaps installing speed bumps on Yale and Butternut would be. It's difficult to do a test drive when you're limited to 15 mph.

how long do I have? does eviction mortorium apply?

They're a lot more expensive and harder to find now, especially in CA. Seems people are taking them on one-way trips to ID and MT.

Are workplace bans on personal cellphone use a violation of civil rights?

She needs a stronger kick in the tail than you can give her which is why it's now time for you to go to her supervisor. As AJ pointed out, her behavior can negatively affect your employment so you need to cover yourself. If you need to feel better about it, report it in the context of her...

Are workplace bans on personal cellphone use a violation of civil rights?

FWIW I don't threaten. I would quietly report to the supervisor that she has repeatedly ignored your admonitions to stop. I would also ask that a supervisor catch her at it, and leave my name out of any ensuing fallout.

Are workplace bans on personal cellphone use a violation of civil rights?

Her age isn't relevant. What is relevant is that her actions could get you fired. If she comes to your desk for training then ask that she leave her cell phone at her desk. If you have to go to her desk then ask her to put it away while you train her. Or, if you have Skype/Zoom/etc. train...

Are workplace bans on personal cellphone use a violation of civil rights?

I would terminate sooner rather than later as this is a new hire still in training/probationary period, so it won't affect the employer's UC premiums too much. At a prior job employees weren't even permitted to have a cell phone in the facility, much less in use while on the clock. We had to...

Terrorist Attacks All Over Kabul!!! ISIS-K Takes Credit!

Kind of difficult when citizens decide to take a vacation to the country. I have no idea what they were thinking, but as of this morning if they hadn't made it onto the airport property, they're not going to get out, period. Dozens of California students, parents stranded in Afghanistan after...

    Job Eliminated after Acquisition

This isn't so much a legal question as an economic cost/benefit analysis question. Get the vaccine = stay employed for another two weeks + receive severance + retain eligibility for unemployment. Don't get the vaccine = get let go early + no severance + potentially lose eligibility for...

    Diverseidy Skandell?

As a pro photographer the hubby uses Adobe Lightroom. It's not cheap but that mistake in the photo would never have happened. The government probably went with the lowest bidder using PhotoChop.

Does inspection notice extend a contract if closing date has passed?

Your realtor wants you to go to closing. No closing, no commission, so of course your realtor wants the sales contract to still be active. As AJ said, get a legal opinion from an attorney.

    Forced overtime

Go find a new job. I'm in the process of doing that myself, and I'm not getting treated nearly as badly as you are.

Taliban Declared the Victor, USA & NATO Declared Vanquished!

I pity the Afghani women. They had gained some freedom over the past 20 years - not as much as we enjoy in the US, but more than they had. That will now be lost.

Law School No Longer a Ticket to Riches and Wealth!!!

LOL I got my BSEE 30 years ago and had no issues finding a job or staying gainfully employed since. Perhaps there are not too many lawyers, just too many bad lawyers.

I'll stick with keeping snakes. I don't do bugs or spiders* and especially not scorpions. * Spiders I take outside and let go because I understand their role in nature.

    529Plan in NJ

Focus on collecting on the debts your ex owes you versus who contributed what to the 529. As was pointed out, your ex has zero obligation to pay for any university expenses so arguing over who contributed what to the 529 is just running up your legal bill for no good reason. Tell your daughter...

PLEASE: What’s the right thing to do here?

First, you retain a family law attorney and do exactly what he or she says. Second, shut up about restraining orders and supervised visitation. You were fine with leaving your daughter in her dad's care while you left the country. Third, stop complaining about being "tricked" into service as...

Greatest invention of all time = sliced bread!

I bake my own bread, except now in the summer it's too hot to run the oven. So, instead of sandwiches I have fresh garden lettuce wrap sandwiches.

Timber rattler envenomated little girl looking for her kitty three times

If the child was focused on the cat she may have not even realized that the snake was in the area until it was too late. Very few people notice snakes, and the wild/native critters are well camouflaged.
