    Harassing neighbor

Ignore - otherwise you will make things worse. Many times if you ignore the person they will stop.

Terrible misuse of child support benefits

As long as you had a place to live, food to eat & the bare necessaries, your Dad could use the child support as he saw fit. It's too late now to bring up you were thrown out at age 17. No money is due to YOU.

    Illegal layoff?

I don't see where the employer did anything illegal. There aren't enough employees for FMLA to apply. Even if it did, FMLA is only 12 weeks of job protected leave. Sorry.

    Illegal layoff?

Agree that we don't have enough info - for example did FMLA apply at the time of termination? However; even if FMLA applied, he could be terminated if he would have been terminated had FMLA not applied. FMLA would now be expired. It's 12 weeks of job protected leave. Since the co. had been...

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Shoplifting at Kohls, no police, threat of civil demand letter

Generally if you pay the civil demand, that will be the end of it (no charges filed.....). If you don't pay, there could be consequences. Agree that you are most likely in a retail theft database.

    Dismissed shop lifting charge.

Some companies dig deeper than others depending on the job applied for. It's possible the arrest "might" show up on a background check with the notation dismissed.

    Dog ownership

You will need to present your documentation (make your case) & the other side will present what they have (make their case) & the judge will decide who wins. There is no way we can know what a judge might decide or what the other party has.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Criminal summons, should be civil??

If you received a criminal summons for misdemeanor larceny, when you go to court plead not guilty & request a public defender. (A PD is a lawyer)

    Siblings sharing a room.

That's fine - not illegal. The only times when there "might" be a problem is when foster children are involved or when a child is being considered for adoption.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft What happens now

Since the civil demand was paid, it's not likely any further action will be taken by the store. However; if he is in the National Retail Theft Database, he can remain there for 7 years.

Hired and told owner was on vacation,to find out he's in prison and company is in a downward spiral.

There is such a thing as "detrimental reliance" where sometimes if you suffered damages/a loss from what you relied on, you might have recourse. However, it's a contract law concept as opposed to labor law. There would need to have been a contract between you & the business. In your case...

    Young children sharing a room.

No, there is no law against them sharing a bedroom. Many people cannot afford a separate room for each child. The only situations where there might be a concern is when children are in foster care or being considered for adoption.
