    PC - Speed Contest?

What state? Based on your post, discussing with a lawyer experienced in serious traffic violations is highly advised. Street racing is as serious DUI in many areas now days.

    First Speeding Ticket

Be careful, if convicted, there is risk your licence will be suspended since you were more than 15 over. An attorney has the best chance of minimizing the damage (via PJC or reduced charge) and can handle this for you with out your presence...

    Advise "Please" for License Suspension

Make absolutely sure the official records are updated and correct. Request a cop of you driving record a few months from now. I think you can do this on-line and the NCDOT Web site. Otherwise this can pop up again at any time (20 yrs from now).

    speeding ticket 23 over

An attorney has a good chance of getting this reduced to 9 over which is no insurance points with your record. A couple of people have reported being able to do this on their own as Lwpat suggested.

It has much more to do with the attitude and respect you show the court. Do you both live in the same household?

    Prayer for Judgement

See answer in previous thread, take the low speed and save the PJC in case you need it later. You pay fines and court costs no matter what, there is no Court Cost Santa. :p Thank the nice LEO for making it easy on you.

    Prayer for Judgement

You pay fines and court costs for a PJC. (Probably in the $130 range) Ask if they will drop the speed to 9 over so you won't need the PJC since a first offense for less tha 9 over does not hit your insurance. Save the PJC in case you need it later.

    Broken speedometer cable/62in40

Probably not. Having knowledge of your speedometer not functioning might make things worse. What state? What speed and limit?

Congrat's on handling it yourself and thanks for letting us know how it went. Dressing like a lawyer did not hurt, showing respect for the court counts.

    error on ticket in nc?

Huge difference between 54 in a 45 vs 54 in a 35 in NC -- 40% insurance increase for 3 years to be exact. There is no difference in the DMV points so you still pay the fine.

    Help! 69 in 45 NC

A guilty plea or conviction could result in suspension of you licence and a huge increase in your insurance. See if the DA will drop it down to a 9 over. This will avoid insurance points if you have no previous convictions. If they won't reduce the charge, plead not guilty and get a lawyer...

The story has little chance fly in court, probably best it was not heard. Did you notice any similar cases? Sometimes it is good to spend a morning in court to observe what happens and see which attorneys have the best results. I'm not familiar with law in the Great Nation of Texas but...
