What law prohibits a govt. entity from using LLC, LTD, INC, etc?

Even if you could legally create a name like that, I can't think of any way of using it that would constitute criminal fraud on your part.

Is my employer discriminating against me?

    Leave is a permitted accomodation.

I was fired from a job that disability said I could do, does that strength my case to re-apply.

I'm not following this. SSD is not unemployment insurance. What was the reason for your firing?

    Denied collision coverage

You seem to have been misinformed. I do not believe Massachusetts mandates you ever to have anything other than liability coverage. Finance contracts ALWAYS requires you to insure the car against loss and usually put in that they will force a policy ($$$) if they find out that you...

Weapons, Guns, Firearms Felon in possession

Sorry, Moose, since 1968 the feds have first jurisdiction over gun laws. 18 USC 922 applies. However, the feds defer to the state as to whether gun rights are restored under past crimes, to if these were state charges, it matters what the state says.

Justice System, Police, Courts Criminal vs illegal? (for a school project)

Illegal means contrary to the law. Crimes are a subset of illegal activity with specific penalties involving the possibility of incarceration. Then there is legal liability. While being negligent isn't contrary to any law, you can be held liable for damages you cause for others under the law.

Speeding ticket & Defensive driving courses

Nothing written on the ticket makes one bit of importance when you go to trial. All that matters is what the officer and you testify to.

Speeding ticket & Defensive driving courses

Believe me, the insurance company will get your conviction information, at least by when it is time to renew the policy. It does look like Geico will let you slide on a single (lower speed) violation.

Starting a Business Re-Using an Old Name

Should not be a problem. The date of incorporation is one of the fields used on the EIN application.

    Dependent taxes, among other things

If he files on paper with the dependent claimed by someone else, the next thing that will happen is the IRS will kick out letters to both of them (accompanied by a convenient 1040X) asking them to verify that they declared the dependent correctly. If after a couple of those letters go by and...

Starting a Business Re-Using an Old Name

You can, but you may not establish a new entity of any sort under the a "non distinguisable" name until the full administrative dissolution of the previous entity is completed. But to continue the point that AJ is making, it is possible to reorganize the existing entity to change it enough to...

Quarantine times based on vaccination status

You're not going to get anywhere arguing the validity of the quarantine rules. About the only thing in your rant that you might have a claim to is that they need to consider you "on the clock" for the time it takes you to do mandatory reporting. But hell, what is it, a tenth of an hour (the...

Business owner threatening to sue for 1 star review

Understand that insulting someone to their face is not actionable defamation. We have a theory in the law that your mommy should have taught you early on: two wrongs don't make a right.

Business owner threatening to sue for 1 star review

Because you never ate there so you have no personal knowledge, so you were lying about it being an evaluation of the food, a lie, or at least reckless disregard for the truth. It is what we call actionable libel.

Business owner threatening to sue for 1 star review

It's easy to threaten to sue. It's more involved to actually file the suit. It's harder to prevail. While ratings are opinions, it appears you did this not to express an opinion but explicitly to make a statement you knew to be untrue in order to harm this person's reputation. Since this...

Speeding ticket & Defensive driving courses

Mine ( USAA) has always been forthcoming with how they score accidents and tickets with regard to your rates. There's a little thing at the bottom of the cover sheet with the score they use and then you can look that up in other documents to decode what it means to you.

Speeding ticket & Defensive driving courses

Understand that NY has no statutory insurance scoring. So even if you reduce your DMV points, it may not have any affect on your insurance rate. You do get a 10% reduction for taking the course, but that may be swamped by the typically 40% increase you'll see due to the moving violation...

Multiple Entities - Multiple LLC's or Corporation?

There's not much of a legal question in the bunch. Legally, you could do everything under your existing LLC or you could create multiple entities. You're going to have to maintain good accounting practices given the multi-state operations as well as having an employee in another state...

Neighbor moving onto property and parking rv

Whether you sleep in it or not doesn't define it as a dwelling unit under Florida law. It becomes an accessory dwelling unit if it has a bathroom, a kitchen, and a sleeping area. The local jurisdictions have codes as to whether ADUs are permitted and the manner they are constructed.

HoA denied outdoor string lights request

Festoon lights are actually illegal (if that's what you mean by string lights) under the Calfifornia Electrical Code in other than temporary situations. They also can NEVER be supported by trees or other vegetation. Of course, code issues and the statutes aren't the issue here. If your CCRs...
