    car lot scam

Call your state attorney general or consumer agency and report them. This sounds like a yo-yo sale which is illegal in most states. However you have no damages since you stopped payment on the check. Just be sure it did not clear. If it did you can sue them in small claims.

if husband dies 1st is he responsible for her asst.lvg home bill?

His estate is responsible up until the time of his death. Even if he left everything to his boys she still has a right to a portion of his estate and the assisted living home or state could possibly intervene to claim her portion. If they are on Medicaid, Medicaid will likely lein the houses...

    Insurance Settlement

There is no way for us to know whether the settlement covers your loss or not, that is a decision you have to make. For a soft tissue back injury you can expect the insurance company's offer to be very low. The auto insurance company will not pay the medical bills directly, that is your...

    Checks Issued form and Estate

I guess it depends on the family relationship more than the money. If you helped and the payment was reasonable, then you should have been paid by the estate. What the PR is saying doesn't sound right. They could sue you for the return of the money but I don't see how they would prevail.

My wife wants to buy our home

Whatever happens needs to be finalized in the divorce. I doubt that she could get a mortgage in her name alone but dicsuss it with an attorney first. I suggest a formal separation agreement with structured maintenance and support.

    debt summons/

You need to answer the summons within the time limit. Your affirmative defense is that the statute of limitations has expired. You can check the SOL for your state but there are only a couple where they can still come after you and since you didn't give you state I can't check.

car repo, questions concerning what to do.

It just depends. Usually they will sell it to a CA who will hound you and keep putting it on your credit report. In the menatime the interest and fees will keep adding up to the point where they may take you to court and get a judgment. Then they will hound you for payment of the judgment. Best...

    Earnest Money

You really need an attorney to look at the paperwork and give you an opinion. The exact wording of the documents will control. They are not going to just give you the money back, you are going to need an attorney to file suit anyway and hope they are not BK.
