Assault & Battery Uttering threats leads to assault.

True about the State. One of my favorite posts is one where the person was in Canada. . . didn't mention it until quite a few responses. . .

Assault & Battery Uttering threats leads to assault.

There's a big difference between "I'll get my gun and shoot you" vs. "Now I'm going to shoot you" while pointing a gun. . . It is a forum with a bunch of people you'll never meet. Might as well give the true evidence and what really happened vs. hypotheticals.

Yes, if the victim believes them as would the common person. Battery is actually the physical part.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Adult smoking pot with minors

So this horrible woman is your friend? I think the best solution doesn't involve the police. If you can get your daughter to stay away from her, and maintain friendship with her child only during school, you've done the best you can do. Getting the police involved may have the effect of...

    Juvenile charges

Contact a criminal defense attorney. A good one should give you an initial consultation for free. Make sure up front that you don't have to pay for your first talk. Good Luck.

Getting the police involved may cause more problems then it aleviates. Is there any way your daughter will obey you if you forbid her from hanging around with the wrong people? Personally, I would talk with the parent and then decide what boundaries to give my child.

If the police won't help you, one avenue to take is getting a restraining order. Be sure to keep the evidence.

Ugh. I must have been napping, I didn't read Universities are on hightened alert due to school violence. . . please disregard my previous replies. I would think the best avenue for the University would be for you to come in and talk to the Dean or someone else to assess the situation. ...

I'm so confused. The 2 letters you wrote are perfectly acceptable to all sane individuals. . . If you're getting booted for just those 2 e-mails You have a definate civil case against the university. It's so ridiculous it might even be of interest to the media. How did the University...

Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse Felony means no job

Kelly, With the economy the way it is, there are a lot of people that can't even get maintenance or repair jobs eithers. I know of people with good college degrees that are now filling the jobs you are probably applying for (becoming bartenders, maintenance, waiting tables).

Their intentional desire to cause stress and anxiety is definately actionable. BUt ask yourself, do you really think they'd ever admit to saying that, even in court? Probably not. . . that's what you're dealing with. To me you do seem to be a little naive about how police often conduct...

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Police brutality could I win any type of settlement?

Actually, while all of this is going on, you may wish to get a defense attorney, if you can afford one. . . S/he may be able to answer many of your questions and speed things up. . or slow them down. As far as getting the police report goes, it is my experience that you are correct about...
