As a hobby, I have been writing a software package that requires the following existing, Open Source software package to function:

Apache Web Server
PHP
MySQL database

My question is, would I be in violation of any licensing rules/laws if I sell my software (bundled with Apache, PHP functionality, and MySQL) for profit?

Let me know if you require additional information. And as always, thank you for your help.

I briefly looked at the Apache license and didn't see anything there that might limit you from including a copy. You should look at the current licenses for each product with regard to distribution. I typically advised clients to have download links since it will provide the ability to have the latest versions downloaded by the purchasers of the software and who will be receiving your software over a time period where versions will change.

THELAWPROFESSOR - Good ideas. I've looked through licenses from all included componants and didn't notice anything that would prevent me from including them in a for-profit package, either. However, I find a lot of these licenses to be quite confusing, at times! :)

Thanks, again.

Glad to help. There used to be software called phpTriad which was very popular and automated the process to install all three items you mentioned above. I know a little something about using those three components since that is what TheLaw.com uses to run. :)
