Greetings All

First off let me say that I am new to this forum and what a wonderful resource of information there is here! Now on to my situation. First a brief account of the incident:

I was recently given a traffic ticket for making a left turn in the incorrect lane. I hadn't noticed that the particaluar street had an indent to the left side (albeit very short - short enough not to notice) and i had been in the lane to the right of it when i had made the left turn (the road was also a one way onto a two way for whatever that's worth), afterwhich i was promptly pulled over and issued a ticket. The way the road curves and poor lighting conditions had also led me to believe I was already in the left turn lane.

Now my enquiry is that the cop had written down the wrong street name on the traffic ticket and I have proof of my claim. As mentioned before in my brief account, the road i had travelled on is a one way street (heading WESTBOUND). The cop had gotten that right but had written down WESTBOUND on a different street - this street being a ONE-WAY EASTBOUND (thus contradicting himself).

Will this be enough for the judge to dismiss my case? If not is there perhaps someway I could use this to my advantage? I was thinking of saying in my defense that the road conditions were so poorly maintained/ poorly lit that even the police officer had issued misinformation.

Any suggestions will help. Thanks
