We would like to adopt a 26 year old Asian girl who came to live with us over 1 year ago and is on a Student Visa. We have grown to love her dearly and would love to see her be able to stay in the US. Can we legally adopt her? What do we need to do? Please help?

We live in San Diego, CA. We have grown to love our 27 year old Asian "granddaughter". We would like to adopt her if it is at all possible. She is here with us over 1 year on a Student Visa going to school. We'd like to know if we can adopt her and what we need to do to do it ASAP.
