If you were considered a juvenile at the last charge then chances are that they may not see the previous charge.
Your first step should be to find a lawyer or apply for a public defender.
second step, get counseling. either go and see a counselor or...
Hey there. I'm from VA as well.
First things first, take a deep breath.
A few months ago I was in a similar situation. I paid for a few items, tried to walk out with more. Needless to say, I got caught. My charge was similar to yours as well, except it was Conceal/alter price merch <200, I'm...
Just thought I'd let people know that my court date has come. I go in this afternoon to "face the music." I do have a lawyer now (I can't believe I was stupid enough to think I could do this on my own). While I do deserve any punishment I get, I just hope that the judge sees that I am...
for those who are interested, i wanted to give y'all a quick update before i head out of town for the holidays.
as of this morning i have a lawyer. many thanks to norman jr for helping out with that. while the lawyer is actually out of town right now, his assistant has me down in the books to...
i meant to add that i did try to speak with the commonwealth attorney, his secretary said i wasn't allowed to without a lawyer no matter what, even if i was waiving my rights to a lawyer.

as of right now i do not have a lawyer. i've met with 2 so far and theres no way i can afford either of them (one walked out of the room after i asked about making a couple of payments since we wouldnt have the full amount by the court date). ive contacted our bank about getting a loan and the...
i am in southwest virginia...i was told by the county clerk that there is no chance of getting this "off my record", they only offer that for juveniles. however, i will be completing the n.a.s.p. program for adults in the time before my court date and i have a meeting with a lawyer on thursday.
I was able to get a hold of one so far that will meet with me for a consultation, I plan on continuing my phone calls tomorrow in hopes that I'll find others that will do the same.
As for not admitting guilt, I'm just asking this so I understand better (I don't mean anything mean by it), how...
i just purchased the at home program from n.a.s.p. and i've found a lawyer that will do a free consultation....hopefully i'll get it and have it done in time before january 12th
i know you said you do NOT reccomend it (and i can understand why), but if i do decide to talk to the d.a. on my own...
i just got back from talking to the judge.....he said that i do NOT qualify for a public defender.
also, before he spoke with me about the public defender part he called my name, said what i was charged with, and then said it can be punishable with a 12 month jail sentence and a $2500 fine
my...
Has anyone here actually completed the program that the National Association for Shoplifting Prevention offers? If so, did the judge/district attorney take it into consideration at the court appearance?
