Hello, I made some software that I was planning on distributing to the public. Note that this is all my software. I made it from scratch. If I put the copyright at the top of it, does that automatically mean that I copyrighted the code, or do I have to go to court and buy something to do it...

I was just meaning if I would get sued for a couple million dollars and put in jail for 25 - 50 years....
