    Hey All,

Unfortunately, I moved into an apartment on a 12-month lease with my girlfriend about 2 months ago only to have her cheat on me 2 weeks ago. Now she is planning to move out next weekend and I am curious as to what my rights are, if any. Specifically, we have been splitting rent and utilities 50/50 and now I will have to bare that in its entirety - that does not seem fair in my opinion. Both our names are on the lease and it is a one bedroom. We split all the furniture in the aparment 50/50 as well. Do I have any financial rights in this situation? The fee to break the lease is the equivalent of two months rent; however, we wouldn't be necessarily breaking the lease - we're just considering taking her name off of it. Do I not have to agree to this? Can she technically be considered liable for her half of the rent for the entire 12 month lease? Or can she pay me the required two months rent in order to break her half of the lease? I'd sincerely appreciate any feedback or advice!

    Thanks!

I have a friend who told me about a lady wanting to rent her condo out. I moved in and my friend backed out of the deal. I never signed anything and never got a key. Not even sure if the owner ran it by the condo association. I stayed 3 days and moved out. I gave her a $600 security deposit and the owner is refusing to give any of it back. Do I have any chance in small calms court?

I Have Been Employed At A Physicians Office For A Little Over 2 Years. When I Was Hired, Along With Several Other Employees The Office Manager Never Told Us That They Offered A 401k Plan. But There Are Several Long Time Employees Who Are Participants In The Fund Who Became Eligible After 1 Year. I Just Became Aware Of This Because She Left A Statement In My Office Mailbox Regarding The Contribution From The Office. I Never Have Contributed To This Plan Which Has An Employer Match. According To The Statement I Was Eligible To Do So In October 2007! But Was Never Updated. Which I Fully Would Of Took Advantage Of If I Had Known. What Liability Does If Any The Employer Have For Not Notifing Me Of This.i Feel As If I Was Robbed Of A Very Vital Asset.

I just recently purchased a used vehicle from a dealership (couple of days ago) and today it started to make a rubbing sound. so I called my partner and told him about it. Immediately he printed out a carfax report. Long story short the dealership failed to mention to us about the history of the car. My question is what should i do now what are my rights?

Hello, I have a question that i am hoping you may have an answer for. My fiance is incarcerated and has been since Jan. for Arson. He has not yet got sentenced and wont be until Nov. Some recent information was brought up and is contained in letters. He was not the only one involved and was actually in the car passed out during the fire. The note contains the other guy stating my fiance was in the car and he will make sure "the truth is known". He also stated he is still in the dark about it and most likely means he is afraid to tell the truth for he will go down for all. Is this information important in thecase? And any other help you can give? Thank you.

Hello. I am new to this site and have a question to ask.

Hello, i met a person thru badoo.com, its a site sort of like facebook and such sites where you can meet people... We hit it off, she is from CT and i live far away. It was obvious we were going to have a "virtual" relationship, si we decided it was ok to do this for a while and then meet, so 10 months have passed i fell in love more and more with this person, she only send me pictures of her and her family but never wanted to have a video conference, it seemed strange but i was not suspicious, but everytime i had a chance to go and visit her, she had an excuse, or that she could come and visit me, so finally i started putting pressure and started questioning her, and she started to commit errors in her past versions, so i got really mad and started investigating her, i did have her cellphone, which now i found is registered to a mans name that has nothing to do with what she claims her last name is, and i now found another profile with her same email adress in another social webpage and she has other information and other pictures of her, which is really confusing me, is there something legal i can do, because i really really feel deeply hurt, and i dont think is fair that people go on taking false identities and play with peoples feeling,s what i felt for her was true and honest, i was honest all the time, i even dreamed of her as the mother of my kids and was planning to move close to her and she knew and encouraged me, and when the time got close she started to make excuses and finally it turns out i dont even know who she is, i want to do something also to make an example, because it may sound innocent or lame even, but this is something that needs to be regulated, its not just these kind of situations, it could be rape, it could be fraud, it could be many things, something legal needs to be done so that people take more seriously other people feelings, moral and integrity, its in my opinion the most valuable asset a human being posses by itself, so please help me!, thanks in advance

We bought a washer and dryer on CraigsList.. all communications were cordial. My husband arrived with a truck and he had to remove the washer and dryer himself from a very tight bathroom and through a kitchen. In doing so, the dryer bumped the refridgerator and two 3/4 inch scratches and a minor dent occurred. We paid cash for the W&D and took them away. When he got home there was an email from the seller telling us they were very upset that there were 2 scratches and a dent on their refridgerator and that it was going to be a "significant amount of money to have it fixed" and that they would be in touch with us so we could pay to fix it. Can you please tell me what are our rights with something like this? It was a very difficult situation to removed them (actually we thought they would have been disconnected and removed before we picked them up). You help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I am currently in a lease at an income restricted property. In order to qualify for this aparment my income had to be a certain amount; however, I will be in violation of this income requirement at the end of the month due to new employment. I would like to terminate my lease under this clause and I am wondering if I can. The clause states, "If Resident has supplied information to the Manager by means of a rental application or similar instrument, Resident covenants that Resident knowingly and voluntarily gave all such information, and if such information proves to be false or misleading, Resident shall have committed a material breach of this lease that Resident shall not be permitted to cure. In cases of tax-exempt bond-financed properties Resident hereby certifies the accuracy of the statements made in all documents previously executed, and further agrees that the family income, family composition and other eligibility requirements set forth in the Certification of Tenant Eligibility and Income Verification (collectively known as the "Certificate") shall be deemed substantial and material obligations of Resident's tenancy; that Resident will promptly comply with all requests for information with respect thereto from the Manager, the Owner of the Apartment Community or any Mortgagee; that Resident's failure to provide accurate information in the Certificate or Resident's refusal to comply with a request for information with respect thereto shall be deemed a material default by Resident which Resident shall not be permitted to cure; and that Resident's failure to furnish accurate and current information on the Certificate could subject Resident to civil liability. Resident agrees that this Lease shall become null and void if it becomes known to the Owner of the Apartment Community or Manager that continuation of Resident's occupancy will result in the interest on any tax-exempt bonds utilized to finance the construction of the Apartment Community becoming subject to federal income taxation, or in violation of the state statue permitting the issuance of such bonds." This is the full clause which is listed in the lease agreement. My income will increase at the end of the month, which means that I am no longer meeting the income requirements. I want to know if this clause will allow me or the complex the void my lease. This property is income restricted and they get some kind of federal money or they received federal funds through a tx bond to build these apartments.
