Cancelled health insurance, but still deducted premiums from paycheck

Update: My husband called and it was an oversight. They're refunding us the premium. Thanks for your help!

    need help more than ever!!!

Jimmysgirl, life is not black and white. There are circumstances, depending on the situation, where a child might not be better off spending time with the bio parent (i.e. drug use, abuse, etc.). Sometimes these things happen AFTER you've had a child with someone. It's isn't always predictable...

    need help more than ever!!!

Of course, but you can't turn back time. All she can deal with is the here and now. She's not posting on here to be attacked for having a child with someone who is a loser...she probably already knows that. When someone comes here for advice about how to deal with a difficulty in child custody...

    Age Discrimination

It may be illegal but I dont think it can be proven...all the employer has to say is "We didn't feel that person was qualified enough." This happens all over the place....It's pretty sad.

Jimmysgirl, what qualifies you to offer legal advice? Are you married to or the daughter of an attorney? Just wondering.

Cancelled health insurance, but still deducted premiums from paycheck

My husband left his job of 10 years on Oct. 29th to take another position at another company. He received his 2nd to last paycheck on November 1st, where the company did deduct the health insurance premium from his earnings. He will receive another partial check on Nov. 15th. We found out...

Bio Mom leaves 9-year old home alone

Yeah, I can see your point. My husband is concerned because she walks home alone from the bus stop with a bunch of older kids (middle school age) and then goes home to an empty house. They live in an apartment complex (a nice one) but he was worried that eventually some pervert might catch wind...

    child custody

That's fine Jimmysgirl, but you don't have to treat concerned stepparents who post on these forums in such a fashion. They come here to get advice, not to be treated like dirt. Believe it or not, I'm very aware of MY position and I dont stick MY nose into the way my husband and HIS ex raise...

Bio Mom leaves 9-year old home alone

Thanks Carl, I appreciate the response. It's sad that something has to happen to the child first before the law would act in such a situation.:(

I think Jimmysgirl has a thing against stepparents, JMO.

    Controlling biological mom

We deal with a similar situation in our family. I have twin girls and I would love for their half sister to see them more often but unfortunately, when she is with her mom during her mom's time, whatever her mom wants to do with her is her mom's business, even though it doesnt seem fair. Good luck.

    Help! Confused!!!

Jimmysgirl, why are you ridiculing him for simply asking a question on his wife's behalf? As her husband, he is concerned about the situation. The money they spend on gas affects him. They are a married couple trying to deal with this situation. He simply comes here for advice. In my opinion...

Bio Mom leaves 9-year old home alone

I know that I have no say in this matter. I dont stick my nose into the parenting of their child. That's not what i meant. As her stepmom, I'm simply concerned for her well-being. My husband was livid and told her mother that it wasn't acceptable to him. We found out that in Missouri, there is...

    Age Discrimination

I believe it's age discrimination because this is happening at my husband's company...he's been there ten years...they're weeding out the older employers who are making more money and bringing in younger people who will work for $10,000 less per year with less experience. But the employer can...

Bio Mom leaves 9-year old home alone

My husband and I just found out that his daughter's mother has been leaving her home alone after school for about an hour or so. She walks home about three-four blocks from the bus stop to an empty house and then stays inside for about an hour to an hour and a half until her mother gets home...
