Hard to know
I know its frustrating for you, but two weeks lag time for a company isn't unreasonable especially with a holiday in the middle of things. You also mentioned a third party does the background check - thats another level of complication. (BTW, Your BFs property management company...

There is no exception to the National Minimum Age Act as it is written.
If you read the act is it very specific in what it outlaws. So there are some loopholes which vary by state (some states didn't close the loopholes with their own legislation). There may be some wiggle room in...
Nope
The National Minimum 21 Drinking Age Act specifies that you must be 21 or older to purchase or publicly posess alcohol. Neither marriage nor a court ordered emacipation will alter that. Most states specifically prohibit anyone under 21 drinking alcohol.

I can't find a single moderator to alert about this situation.
There is a post under family violence "falsely accused of violence" by zacatecas. Its being spammed by that username, and the last post threatens to hack this site. This site was only hacked a couple of weeks ago due to lax...
You need a lawyer
If a complaint has already been filed, I think you need to contact a lawyer who specializes in landlord-tenant disputes.
Hopefully, one of the legal folks will see this and have more specific advice.

Were you charged?
OK, you were arrested. Were you charged with possession? If you were charged and have a court date you need a lawyer. Have you gotten one yet? If you don't have a lawyer and can't afford one, you should ask for one.

What state are you in?
Many states have 'lemon laws" which might cover your situation. You shoudl also have some protection under general consumer protection laws. Your state attorney general's office can guide you on where to look.
You should also contact the car manufacturer (Nissan)...
I'm not sure
what your recourse would be. I know nothing about Canadian law.
A normal security check would not involve handcuffing you. They were certainly acting on some kind of report, but who knows what about you and your husband matched the report. I'd sure as hell start shooting off...
Try the State Attorney General's Office
In my experience, the Mass AGO is pretty helpful answering basic questions about the law and telling you where to go next. (BTW, I'm assuming that the paper you have spelled out the terms of the sublease and both of you signed it. )
AFAIK, in MA you...
What state are you in?
Your state might have specific laws that govern what you can and can't do here. It will help if you tell us where you are.
Yes, the sublesee effectively took on the responsiibilities of being a tenant in that apartment. Shes being a jerk for backing out and leaving...
