Ok - thanks, just trying to find out if I could leverage my time with company.

I am vested in the company's 401K, but I understand that I need to follow the Federal guidelines for taking distributions.

I've been working for my company for 20 years, and I have another job opportunity. I am under the age of 50. Can I retire from the company to start another job or do I have to quit? Would it make a difference or are there some benefits to "retiring" vs. quitting?
