IS there a law on the books in Washington that has a loud muffler exhaust bill? I kwo here in MA I have been fighting a bill that sint correct in its wording about the same thing.
IF there is a db level clearly on the books about what is too loud- then yes you are at fault and need to fight it...
Here in MAss we are an 'at will' state which I think means you can be fired at any time for basically any reason (legal reason).
