I did sign a contract that was to begin on Jan 17, 2005. Contract would renew at the end of 1 year of employment.

I recently notified an Illinois company that I will not be starting with them. Upon notification, company responded asking that I compensate them for breach of contract and that I am bound by a 2 year non-compete. I believe they are simply upset about my decesion and reacting foolishly...
