Is it legal to use cameras to monitor workplace and allow the security guy access to this on his home computer and TV ? I need to add, the guy in charge of placing the cameras is a registered sex offender on probation and the owner (my employer) gives him his blessing to do this and use the in store computers at will. I am pretty sure he is not supposed to be online as a condition of probation or parole. He did 5 years in state prison for possession of child porn. The owner dismisses the whole thing as if it does not matter but I have a very creepy feeling about the whole deal.

As long as the surveillance is properly disclosed to employees and there aren't cameras in areas like bathrooms or changing rooms, none of the other stuff matters.
