Hi, I just need some insights on a situation. My mom has been on her job for 4 years & 4 months. Recently, she asked her Manager if she could perform lighter duties such as public area or half boards where she can also help her co-workers with their rooms. The manager tells my mom that there isn't any public area but a few days later, her younger co-workers (who are mostly Spanish descent like the manager, while my mother is not), would be doing public area or something lighter. My mom has passed out too many times (3 and up) on the job because they're rushing her to do a certain amount of rooms in a short time, even with them knowing about her health, she still gets rushed the most. Example: Have 5 rooms done by 10 (they get there at 8). It's never the supervisor that rushes, it's always the manager. She went to the General Manager & HR and neither was any help. Next step, EEOC (her caseworker), She turned in everything that was required and had evidence to support her claim, they weren't helpful at all. So my next step is to figure out what can she do, she's talked to a few lawyers that said she has a case but they're too expensive. So is there anyone else that she can talk to without getting the run-around? She's one of the most dedicated employees at her job and the way she's being treated isn't fair at all. Helpful replies are greatly appreciated. Thank You!
