My friend was recently served Divorce/Child Custody papers. She does NOT have the $$ to afford a lawyer & seriously wants to formally respond to the petition HERSELF. We have searched the internet over for the "proper" forms & only end up finding sites that want to ultimatley sell something. We know the information IS FREE & out there but have NO CLUE where to look for the proper response forms??? Also, WHO can help us (without charge if possible) IF we run into any technical questions? She desperately wants her daughter & there's not a lawyer (even the Legal Aid office's lawyer) that is willing to help her because she cannot afford the retainer, not to mention the "small" down payment one might be looking for. She only has a little over two weeks to respond. Please help us any way you possibly can? Thanks!
