Hello, I have a question. I was wondering what I should do. I loaned a family member a large amount of money a while ago. Now that person has filed for bankruptcy. We had a written agreement that he will pay the loan back. He was making payments for a couple of years. I am just wondering what I should do. Is there any chance I will see any money? I did receive a letter to attend his bankruptcy hearing.
Thanks,
D.

Unfortunately it would seem that you are in the same boat as other creditors of your class. Did you have any security interest in any of his possessions?

I'm very sorry to hear about the situation and hope things resolve themselves.
