My husband of 7 months just walked out of the door taking his belongings and leaving his 15 year old son. He and his son have been with me for 3 years. I want to raise the child as I have done for the past few years. His father has not a care about his son or me. All he wants is his freedom. I asked him what I am supposed to do financially. I am fighting to get my job back the job I have had for 8 years. I am on unpaid leave due to a break down I had about this situation. What legal rights to I have about his son and his abandoning us? I live in Cleveland Ohio

where is the mother? She has rights over you for custody, unless she is deceased.

You need to see an attorney ASAP. If the child prefers to stay with you, then he is old enough to express his preference to the court.

His mother is in prison. His father has had custody since he was 3 years old.
