Hello,

I am considering renting a Home that friends are currently renting from a Landlord. They said that the house was on th emarket for sale when they rented it. He took it off the market and is negotiating with us to rent it at the end of their lease.

My question is, if I sign a 12 month lease, what rights do I have in Pennsylvania if he chooses to sell? (I have no idea what the lease stipulations will be as I haven't seen a lease yet. )

What would my rights be if he DOESN'T mention or address a potential sale of the property in the lease? And if he does specify that he may sell at a later date?

I don't want to move in in October and be out my deposit along with the associated moving costs (both financial and emotional strain, lol).

Thank You!

The new owner is still bound by terms of lease or can offer you a cash for keys deal. Google your states rental laws to get more clear info
