Child Abuse, Molestation, Porn What are the chances of conviction?

My daughter recently confided in me that a man who oversees many youth groups in the community was "snuggling" with her while his hands were in her pants. From what I'm understanding of it, there's been no actual "fondling", but his hands were certainly where they didn't belong and my daughter was traumatized. She was spending the night at his house when his wife was home, but his wife fell asleep and he made his move. Shortly after the incident he started giving me the creeps and we eventually cut ties when he didn't back off. I'm disgusted and I want every parent in the community to know what kind of sicko this guy is. I know he's had allegations thrown at him before (something I didn't know until afterward). I can get her testimony as well as witness testimonies from people who noticed his infatuation with her. Problem is, the key evidence has vanished. We had about 9 months of Facebook messages where he slowly asked more and more often to see her. He got to the point where he asked multiple times a day when he could see her next, he also admitted to past allegations in those messages. But he deleted them and unfriended me to cover his tracks. Another big problem is that the main police officer in charge in the town it took place is a friend of his. What are the chances of getting a conviction with just personal testimonies from 4-6 people? What are the chances that those deleted messages can be retrieved by police? Should I try to go through the state police because he's friends with the town police? I'm also hearing from everyone how hard it will be to convict him without solid evidence like those messages, but I'm the only one who is in a position to protect the other kids in our community.

*Edit: At the time, he was about 25 and she was 10.

I suggest you visit the local prosecutor, or district attorney to discuss your concerns.

Make an appointment to discuss your concerns with the top dog.

Take whatever proof or exhibits that support your position.

In the meantime, stop discussing the subject with anyone.

Yes, anything ever posted to FaceBook can be recovered by forensics personnel. Not to worry.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I was considering speaking with the DA, but I didn't know if they'd see me. I don't know much about law. I'll make an appointment as soon as I finish collecting what evidence I do have.

He or she will see you. He or she is an elected public official, plus the business of the DA is to squash crime and send criminals to prison.
Good luck.
