Im from South Africa.

My ex fiance and I split up last we have a two year old child. He has just dumped us at some stange peoples house to live, no car, no work as he asked me to become a stay at home mom. Ive been unemployed for over two years. People are advising me to take him to court for maintenace, but also heard that Im his commen law wife and any debt he has made will become mine too, well half of it anyway. I have no debt.
he has promised to pay me maintenance, is he responsible for me financially till Im on my feet again? I found out a few days ago there is another woman involved and she knew full well about me and the child. Can I sue her?

If you have any legal actions against anyone, it would be the father of your baby, no one else.

He is responsible for supporting his baby, not you.
But, you'll have to take legal action to do that.


I suggest you get a job. You need some money. I doubt that a bum like him will ever pay you more than a couple of dollars at best.
