An individual who was receiving welfare benefits due to full medical disability was employed (and paid "under the table") by the physician who signed the disability papers stating that this individual was unable to work. This individual (who no longer works in the doctor's office) did not report the earnings and is now being investigated for welfare fraud. What are the possible consequences for the individual as well as for the physician?

Look up fraud statutes for your state. If the physician knowingly commited fraud with this person, then there is a possibility of conspiracy to commit fraud and they may be charged together.
