My son and his Scottish fiance are planning to get married in New York, where it will be easy for her family to attend. She was told that they must get married in the New York City marriage license office or there will be a 25 day delay in processing an advance parole request. (she would like to go home for Christmas) The rules i see just say after the 24 hour waiting period for the license, you must get married within 90 days. the officiator signs the marriage certificate which is turned in (to the visa processing office?) Does using a different venue, outside of the license office delay processing of advance parole request?
