On Dec 3, 2006 I was laid off my my employer. I discussed my medical benefits with him and he told me he would continue my coverage until the end of December. I did not find out until recently after getting a claim denied that he terminated my coverage the very next day Dec 4. I am a single mom and am now facing over $3000.00 in medical bills. Do I have any recourse against my employer? I feel this constitutes as a verbal agreement and should be binding. Any advice you can give would be so helpful.

It is going to be near impossible to prove a verbal agreement. Were you offered COBRA at all?
