i was recently a victim of id theft via wells fargo financial. upon learning of the theft, i contacted wells fargo for assistance. After their investigation, wells fargo verified that i'm indeed a victim of fraud and sent me a letter clearing me of responsibility. within the past month, i have been receiving calls from a debt collection agency (central credit services) wanting to collect on this debt. I advised the agency of the issue and faxed them the letter of proof from wells fargo. this did not help, since i'm getting calls daily from this debt collector. this agency do not know from one day or one agent to the next, what is going on. i've had to fax the same documents numerous times, yet it doesn't help in getting them to stop harrasing me on a daily basis. are there any statutes out there that can stop these people?
