unemployment

Can a person file for unemployment is they put in a two weeks notice and was terminated immediately? Thank you

You can file.
The state will decide.

You mean, when you put in your resignation and it was accepted effective immediately, don't you?

As AJ said, there is nothing stopping you from filing a claim. Whether or not it will be accepted by the state is not something we can guess.

You can always file for UI. The state will decide if you qualify. Good luck.

There are states where, if you quit and they accept it immediately, you can get unemployment for the notice period minus any waiting period the state may have. I just don't know if the OP's is one of them. It never hurts to apply - the worst they can say is no.

In Texas they would usually count that as you being fired, unless the employer pays you for the two weeks. But you never really know what they will decide.
