I started the process to refinance my home. The bank required me to get the house inspected, since they asked this I thought they already did the credit checks and there would be no problem for me to get the loan. I paid $500 for the inspection and months later they denied the loan. Is there anyway for me to get the bank to pay me back for this inspection, since they should of verified the loan would of passed before I paid out of my pocket for this inspection. They seemed to work backwards to me and I could use that money. If the re-finance went throught the $500 would not of mattered.

No, you can't require the bank to reimburse you for the inspection costs associated with a loan.

You can ask.

They'll likely say no.
