I'm so embarrassed by this but I must ask. I and my husband on separate occasions have had loans with a tribal lender without any problems. We each have one out now and there has been a development with my health (cancer) and we are going to have trouble paying the balance of these loans. In my situation, I collect social security retirement so I believe that can't touch that. And, from what I'm told, they have no legal rights in my state. They are prohibited from lending in Connecticut.
I worry about my husband though because he has a job and I wouldn't want them calling his work or harassing him.
We have paid $2398 on $1100 in loans (paid off). They are notorious for the high cost of borrowing.
I guess my question is - what can they legally do to us? I've closed my checking account as they take it directly. With my health concerns, who knows how much time I have left and better to pay medical bills and the premiums.
Thanks in advance
