hello,

I have a question. My job transferred out of state as of 11-20-16. My lease at my apartment is thru July 2017. Can I break the lease whereas my job transferred and I didn't have a choice in the matter?? It's to far to drive back and forth. And I can't afford to pay rent at two different places. I've called a few places to ask these questions with no luck. Sorry you have called the wrong place. Or this is the correct number and yet again it's not.

Read your lease, check to see if any such "job transfer" clauses are mentioned.

If not, you must negotiate and pay to break the lease.
Otherwise, you'll owe on the lease until it expires in 2017.
If you don't pay, it'll lead to an eviction, devastate your FICO, and ruin your chances to rent decent housing for decades.

Open a dialogue with yoru LL, and see what you can negotiate a way to pay to break your lease, usually its two months rent, give or take.

YMMV
