Hi all,
I have been running a website for over 10 years. We've always had sponsors to help offset the cost of hosting the website, and up until recently I never really thought about liabilities. Now that I'm starting a family I want to make sure my family is protected.
I just started the process for filing for an LLC. Once everything is complete, what would I need to do to transfer "ownership" of the website to the LLC? Would I draft a sale document? And considering the website operates at a net loss (it's always been a hobby, so I never cared that I was paying for the website out of my own pocket) would I have to really give it a high value?
I created the LLC with the intentions of using it for my server I lease and the websites that are then hosted on the server. But I also figured I could use the LLC for IT services and consulting as well -being in IT everyone is always asking me to do computer-related odd jobs for them.
