I purchased a manufactured home (trailer) from an individual in Mississippi. I have a bill of sale for the purchase. Unfortunately, MS does not title trailers and AL does. I have been chasing this issue for weeks now, dealing with the revenue office, citations from the county, etc. I have FINALLY found out that I need to file a petition with the Circuit Court to have the trailer awarded to me by the court so that I can apply for a title. I know that I have to pay a $214 filing fee but no one at the court house will tell me what I need to put in the petition because that constitutes practicing law without a license (only in AL I am sure!). I can not afford to hire an attorney and I just need someone to tell me what to do. Where can I turn for help? I have been through the AL State Bar Association, the local bar association, Legal Services, and can not get anyone at the Lawyer Referral Service. Can anyone help me?
