Arraignment, Bail, Bonds, Pretrial Time limitations for prosecution of felony

In Texas, if you have been charged with a felony, posted bail, and trial was set but continued (in October 2000), is there a certain amount of time within which the trial must be scheduled? The surety would like to be released from the bailbond, but trial is still not scheduled.

you need to look in the tx. Statute of Limitations ... it is probably on the net, listed as such; also a Motion for a Speedy Trial might be in order ...
