I just need some information. Let's say someone takes the Alford plea for assault with a deadly weapon on a government official on a plea agreement. Later an MAR is filed. The judge does not allow the plea to be withdrawn, but does agree to resentence the person since mistakes were made on the prior record level and they didn't sentence within the range that was agreed to in the plea agreement. The judge however could not sentence the person at that time because they were not present. Is there a time limit that the state has to sentence the person within? Like a statute of limitations or something similar? If there is a time limit, and the state doesn't sentence this person within the time limit, then what happens to that conviction? Any insight you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks! :)
