A line item in the Memorandum required by the court order for a non jury trial has the phrase "The defense interposed'. What does this mean? What should the Defendant be inclined to enter in this section of the Memorandum.
 
Probably something like "raised."

As in:

The defense interposed was that of self defense.

Meaning:

The defense that was raised was that of self defense.

What any particular defendant might be inclined to interpose depends on the case details.
