My wife was moved from 2 nd. grade teaching position to high school special ed life skills last year. She had 8 years experience at the school, while other teachers with less experience got to stay in their positions. While she has a degree in special education, there are others who could have been moved with less years in then she does. She quit her job because she didn't want the high school position. She always had satisfactory reviews, and was never ' written up' for anything. Could she have a case against the school district?

Not unless she has a legally binding and enforceable contract that says she can never be moved out of her position into another one.

You titled your thread Teacher contract rights. Did she have an actual legal, binding & enforceable employment contract? If so, it would need to note she can not be required to change positions or without her consent. Also, what some people think is an actual contract is not. "Contracts" should always be run by an attorney if it is believed one was violated.

"If" she was in a union, she should have talked to her union rep.
