I have lived in NY for sometime but have kept my GA drivers license b/c I really don't drive here and am in GA quite a bit. I do occasionally rent a car in NY. I just got some very old mail from back home in GA - mail from August which states that my GA Drivers License has been suspended for 6 months and that I should return it to the DMV within 10 days. I just received this now - ie 3 months later. I am afraid I might be in some real trouble here for not having returned my license and having operated a vehicle in the interim? Also, 3 weeks ago I got a ticket in NY for blocking the intersection - I missed the pay date by a few days by oversight - I'm sure this only complicates the issue. Just found out on Friday night - will call DMV on Monday but need advice. Thanks very much in advance for you insight.
