My husband attempted suicide this morning. He has been admitted to a mental hospital after a psychological evaluation. I called 911 and the police came and shot him after screaming for him to drop his gun, which he did not. The have advised that they will charge him with several things such as pointing a gun at an officer (which my sister and I both deny). He did ask them to shoot him. I believe they would have killed him had I not refused to leave his side. They will not allow anyone to see him because he is under arrest. How do I proceed now.

You likely aren't able to see him because of the psych hold, not the arrest. Once he is in custody at the jail you could visit under normal visitation rules.
In the mean time you can start looking for legal counsel to assist him through this. He'll be needing it.
