My name is on my son's mortgage, as he is single. Recently a new neighbor moved in next door and has constantly called the police for everything from loud noise to my son parking his work vehicle in his yard. Since these people are known for suing everyone, I want to know if they sue my son for some reason, can I be held liable? (I do not live in his house). I am retired and if I were to be sued because my name is on the mortgage, it would be a hardship for me if they were to win. Should I take my name off the mortgage?
