I need some help desperately....
I hired a contractor to finish the basement and to do ome other work in my home.
This contractor then sub-contracted a portion of the job to another contractor.
This sub came to my home today, because he has not received payment from my contactor. He told me that becasue the contractor has not paid him, that if he does not receive his money soon he will take a lien against my home, since this is the only project that the sub knows about.
So my question is this legal for the sub to do, take action against me, even though I am not the one who hired the sub? Also what can I do to get out of this situation.
Please help me ASAP, because this is really concerning me.
