I have just filed chapter 7. I called the finance company on a vehicle that I still have an outstanding balance on. I told them I had filed an intent to surrender the property. Their response is that they have released interest in the vehicle, and won't take it. I'm unsure what to do next. I don't have a lawyer, couldn't afford one. The finance company told me to sell it, but I can't do that without the title. My meeting with the creditors isn't until the end of next month and I was hoping to get rid of this thing sooner rather than later. Also, I'm not sure what will likely happen with this at the meeting, either.
