There was a fire in the storage unit complex where I was renting 3 units. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and attributed to one of the other renters. I had no special insurance and lost thousands of dollars worth of expensive antiques. Basically everything was a total loss. The contract of course says that the company is not responsible for anything that is not insured. Is there any recourse for me? I just can't believe that the company I rented from has no liability. They were also very rude and difficult when it came to cleaning out what was left and were not even remotely sympathetic to my loss. Any suggestions are welcome..
