My Father Died Without A Will. We Owned A Property Togather 50/50. His Half Has To Go To Probate Because It Wasn't Held In Joint Tenancy. He Has Been Divorce From My Mother For 25 Years. In Their Settlement, She Was To Get Paid Out $10,000 And Receive Half His Pension. She Claims He Never Paid Her. I Have No Way Of Knowing If It Was Paid Or Not. She Wasn't Seeking Payment Before His Death (while He Was Working And Had Money) My Father Was Getting His Pension For 10 Years And She Never Persued It. When He Died 6 Months Ago The Balance Was Paid To Me. 6 Months After The Fact, My Long Lost Mother Shows Up(after 20 Years)and Is Threating To Take Me To Court For The Unpaid Debt And The Balance Of The Retirement Fund. The Retirement Office And I Knew Nothing Of Her Claims When It Was Paid Out.is There Any Statue Of Limitations?
