statue of limitations of traffic tickets after they go to collecyions

I have a collection agency telling me that I owe on a ticket over 15 years old. Now if it were the case I would not be able to recieve my driver's license here in Wa. Is there a statue of limitation on collecting for something so old and do collection agency's take advantage of the fact that we don't know about such limitation's? Ekeezy

Good question. I'm not sure... in many states the statute of limitations is 20 years to collect on a debt but there are all sorts of factors, especially dealing with government. Not sure about this one.
