A friend was arrested nearly 6 months ago for reckless burning of land and has been on pre trial house arrest since he was released from the county jail. He has given up his rights to a speedy trial at the request of his defense attorney, but hasn't been formally charged by the state's attorney's office. He as been told different things about how long the procecutor has to bring formal charges.
also i have been told he can not give up speedy with out charges filed is this true.
and how long can they hold him on house arrest before they charge him.
