Hello. I live in NYC and while I was vacationing in Miami I received a speeding ticket. Police officer told me that I can attend driving school and then no points will be assessed for the ticket. I had paid the ticket and chosen to attend the driving school. When I go online to check the status of the case here is the info I get:

Citation #: ______ State #: __________
Incident Date #: 01/11/2010 Related Misdemeanor Charges: NONE
Case Type: INFRACTION Attorney of Record: NO ATTORNEY ON FILE
Violation: 316.187(2)(C) - VIOLATION OF STATE SPEED ZONE
Case Action: CLOSED

Plea Entered: NOLO CONTENDERE Amount Due: $0.00*
Disposition: WITHHOLD ADJDCTN Penalty Assessed: $301.00
Disposition Date: 02/10/2010 Due Date: 03/12/2010
Accident Indicator: NONE ON FILE Traffic School: VOLUNTARY 4 HOURS
Speeding Detail: 50 MPH in a 30 MPH ZONE

I want to make sure that the points will not be applied to my license or insurance. What exactly does Withold adjdctn mean? Thanks for your help!

It most likely means that you have a period of probation, during which you are not to get another citation.

If you do this, the ticket disappears.

I am surprised that it reads the way you illustrate, however.

You might wish to check directly with the court to ensure that your actions been recorded properly.

You should also ask if you are on a period of probation, during which you are to obtain no more citations so that the ticket goes away.
