Seizing a vehicle in my name

Several years ago, my husband's grandfather signed the title of his truck over to my husband because he was filing for bankruptcy and this was his second vehicle. He never had it signed back over. The vehicle is registered to my husband but insured by his grandfather. It is now his only vehicle. The grandfather now has dementia. We are petitioning the secretary of state to have his license reevaluated but if successful, the grandfather has said he'll drive anyway. The only way to keep everyone safe (and my husband not liable) is to take posession of the truck. How do we go about this? We do not have a key and he has made it clear he will not give up the vehicle willingly.

If the title is in your name take it with you to a repo company and explain what's going on. If they can find the vehicle where they can legally take possession of it they will deliver it to you. Once you get it you;ll have to keep it in a secure area and look into changing the locks.
